Hello & welcome!
I’d like to take the chance here to introduce myself: my name is Bonnie! I am the happy wife to my “just-outta-highschool-sweetheart” and the proud momma to a handful of boys - five of them to be exact, all aged 10 and under. Boredom is literally one of my arch-enemies, so most of the time I don’t mind the challenge.
We’ve chosen to educate our kiddos at home up to this point; it’s getting surprisingly fun as their curiosity diversifies and initiative develops!
In the summer of 2018, my husband and I launched a non-profit ministry, called The Union, allowing us to also work from home. (Except when one of us sneaks away to a local coffee shop, where we open up the laptop & pop in the head-phones like aspiring millennials.) Though I never expected to feel this way when I was younger, I’m thrilled that I get to spend the majority of my life at home, with my husband and boys.
Don’t get me wrong; I ache for adventure and wake before my alarm on travel days. I love meeting new faces and trying new foods and hearing new languages. But, here is what I’ve come to realize - my courage to venture out comes because I’ve found Sanctuary. I’ve found sanctuary in my Saviour, Jesus Christ, but also with an amazing tribe of people. We are vastly different in style, personality and goals, yet still committed to the same values. The sense of being rooted in love has given me strength to stretch and grow.
Here is what I’ve learned in years of studying and interacting with hundreds of people - humanity needs a place to come home to.
In order for us to reach our full potential in life, we all need a place to find rest. It is my hope that this blog will be a source of inspiration and education as you find and cultivate your Sanctuary too.
So, thank you for being here and following along; I look forward to hearing from you and getting to know you too!
